| Viability Study using Pro/Mechanica Kinematics: | |
| Our client, a naval engineering company, was quoting on a specification that they believed to be unworkable. A kinematic analysis by DTI allowed our client to demonstrate the problems with the concept, offer alternate designs and ultimately win the contract.

| Specification Writing:
To assist in a timely product launch, DTI performed an analysis on the design of an assembly line producing a new design of electronic connectors. The analysis included manpower utilisation, equipment specification and sourcing of equipment suppliers.

| Customized CAD/CAE with Engineering Insight:
A client involved in the design and manufacture of low volume specialty mufflers was anxious to realise cost savings by shortening the design procedure. New designs were required frequently, a time consuming and costly process. DTI created an automated design program where muffler specifications are entered into a graphical user interface and manufacturing drawings are immediately generated automatically.

| Product Design Powered by Pro/Engineer:
DTI designed a swivel-head ultraviolet inspection lamp. Utilisation of 3D CAD enabled the client to visualise the product during the design process. The math data generated by DTI was sent directly to the injection moulder for mould making.

| Pro/Engineer Excellence and Innovative Thinking:
DTI has an on-going contract with a client well known in the photocopying industry. Our activity covers paper handling systems and involves the design of complex plastic parts, mechanisms, and assemblies.

| Custom Machine Design:
DTI’s client required a special machine to cut chamfered edges on large pieces of slate. Such a machine did not exist commercially, so DTI undertook extensive research and delivered full manufacturing drawings for an edge profiler.

| FEA Delivers a Rapid Solution:
Our client, a supplier of bulk chemical shipping containers, was experiencing stress corrosion cracking of containers in service. An analysis of the container under load allowed DTI to make recommendations for a successful revision of the container design which eliminated the cracking problem.

| Timely Analysis Provides Insight - Saves Time:
The analysis of the steel support structure of a new concept in above ground swimming pools cut development time and testing costs significantly.

| Focussed FEA Qualifies Product:
A manufacturer of heavy equipment for rock breaking needed a new boom design analysed promptly. Using the clients CAD data DTI ran a complete analysis of the boom in a few days. Considerable savings in physical testing were realised on this very large assembly. | |
