DTI offers CAD/CAE services in a variety of leading edge software packages. Although we can generate CAD data in virtually any file format, we use three main tools.
Pro/ENGINEER
DTI was Canada's first CEP (Certified Engineering Provider). After seven years of suppling premier Pro/Engineer services to industry, our ability to make a real difference in your project or implementation is greater than ever. SolidWorks
SolidWorks is a flexible and increasingly powerful modelling package. Conceptual designs can be created rapidly, and then developed into hard, engineered data - all within the same package. DTI has been able to leverage our historical expertise in solid modelling into our use of Solidworks and its expanding set of capabilities.

AutoCAD
AutoCAD is the standard 2D drafting package used my many designers and engineers. We use AutoCAD primarily to output drawings when a client requests it. Occasionally we will also use it for basic layout work.

Analysis Packages:
NE/Nastran
NE/Nastran has quickly become our preferred analysis tool. In addition to providing extremely efficient static analysis, it has enabled us to deliver impact studies, buckling analyses and highly non-linear transient studies. Based around the proven Nastran solver it enables the analyst to confidently generate real results quickly.

Pro/MECHANICA - Structural Analysis
Pro/MECHANICA is an excellent structural tool. It is developed by the same company as Pro/ENGINEER, and hence offers full interoperability between the two packages. Pro/MECHANICA is a very robust analysis program and has an extremly effective shelling feature for thin walled parts. It's advanced P-element convergence produces results with a known error range commonly within 5%.

Pro/MECHANICA - Motion Analysis
Pro/MECHANICA Motion allows the qualified analyst to simulate a full range of motion studies in 3D and report back projected forces, speeds, accelerations, power consumption, contact forces, etcetera. Almost any mechanism can be simulated, including gearing systems, cams, and complex linkage systems.

Cosmos/Works
Cosmos/Works is an FEA extension to the SolidWorks modelling package. It retains the graphical interface found in SolidWorks resulting in a very intuitive analysis environment. With a rapid solver, flexible meshing routines, and a variety of contact formulations, COSMOS works is a rapid and flexible simulation tool.
